Tempted

Yes, I know I am suppose to be watching what I'm eating and working out at least 30 minutes daily.

Oops, that didn't go according to plan. I have missed 2 days of working out cos I over pushed my body previously.  Body must rest a bit.  Also doesnt heklp with the fact I think the common cold is deciding I'm their next victim.

To top it off, I've been divulging in chocolate which I usually won't go near. So I thought whilst my body is repairing itself from the torture I previously put it through, I'll reward my stomach and taste buds by buying my all time favourite chips.  I love eating these chips in Hong Kong.

Pretty sure I'm gonna pay for this temptation later in my workouts.   :/

Japanese Ramen

There is something that I have to eat every week, and that's Hakataya Ramen's "Nagahama Ramen" or "No 1" as I call it.

I started eating at this place at its flagship store in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast ummmm.....more than 5 years ago??? I used to drive 1 hour down there just to eat a bowl of noodles then drive 1 hr back home.

To some people it might seem a bit extreme.  But when I like something, I don't mess around to try and get my hands on it.

I am now ultra happy they have opened 4 shops in Brisbane outer surburbs. And yes, I have been to all of them.  I wonder if they EVER thought about opening up shop in Brisbane CBD?? If so, give me a VIP card cos I will be there most lunch times and probably down a bowl of noodles before I go home as well.

Seriously good stuff.  No wonder they have 17 shops in Japan!!!!

Donate for Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Appeal

It happened on November 8th 2013. The super typhoon ripped roofs off houses, killed thousands of people and tore apart families.

Imagine how your donation can help provide tarpaulins for temporary shelter; or emergency food rations to survivors and most importantly provide water purification tablets for their water.

You're never too late to donate. And no amount is too small, every little bit helps.

We all seriously take things for granted.  Food, water, shelter, electricity, clean clothes, fresh air.....and most importantly our loved ones.

Perhaps forgo buying a coffee everyday and donate that to the appeal instead??
I've donated...what about you??

15/11/13 - Overheard

Well, I was outside having my normal break at work when I overheard 2 people talking.  It had an "ouch" moment attached to it.  So here is their conversation:

Lady 1:  So I hear Australia is heading down the path like US where the government might shut down.  Oh my god, we might have to stop work and not get paid for awhile
Lady 2:  Are you sure??  Can't we take paid leave?
Lady 1:  No, the government could be shutting down to save money.
Lady 2:  Oh gosh, I might have to turn to prostitution to earn some money in the meantime
Lady 1:  Ummm, don't think you'll earn much.

Talk about being straight forward.  I get told I'm straight forward but even I wouldn't say that.

But to be truthful, from my point of view, Lady 1's assessment is spot on.

14/11/13 - Good laugh for today (Part 2)

This follows on from yesterday's post.

Back to the story of bad student vs teacher.

Apparently bad student wasn't too happy with the teacher.....went to whinge & bitch to the head of department.  So yes, today the teacher got a little talking to today, have been pre-warned I might also get a talking to from the principal/head-master.

As if I give a shit!!!  If its wrong, its wrong.  No amount of complaining will help you unless you learn from your mistake...IDIOT!!

And I don't see why I should be given a talking to.  If I made an error in my feedback about the errors I found...fine, I'll cop that.  But if its just an idiot who have nothing better to do with their time but run, cry and make a scene...then FORK YOU!!!!

Seriously, no one appreciates when you do a good job, yet they are ready to pounce on you once someones cries or bitch about things.  So over it!!!

13/11/13 - Good laugh for today

When you're little and growing up, you'll often be asked "what would you like to be when you get older"??  My answer was I wanted to be a teacher.  No idea why  I wanted to be that, especially since I hated carrying around all those text books at school, doing homework and in general.... studying!!!

And what about having to take home work by marking exams or checking homework of students?!?!  Gosh, the more I think about it now, the more I think my head-space wasn't all that good back then.

Anyway...today I had a taste of what a teacher would've felt if they marked a paper and it was a really, really, really, really, really bad student.

Out of the whole activity I checked, there was only 1 thing correct, and I think that was by chance.  It's like.....were you even awake when you coded everything???  I'm sure if the overall mark for the whole activity is 300, they got 1/300.  It was so bad that I laughed the whole way through.

The poor guy.  I ended up having to tell him where he went wrong directly (even though I'm not suppose to) and he told me he had help from 2 senior officers and they said it was fine.  Couldn't believe it.

Gosh, that site needs plenty of help, perhaps an ultimate overhaul.
If I live closer to the place, I think I can overtake and run the whole show myself.  *grins*

Fitness workout before Christmas comes around

It won't be long until Christmas comes around....43 more days to go.
That means my "Langkawi/Kota Kinabalu trip in planning" is getting closer and closer.

So, think its time to fully work out for that bikini body.  I did start working on it nearly 2 months ago, but tore a hip muscle (going down stairs for a fire drill at work!!!)....that really delay my full workout.  Hip is still sore and not 100% healed (i'm saying its probably about 70% at this stage) , but hey....time is ticking away and I will just have to work through the pain.

Yes, I know never test an injury before its fully recovered.....but my ever increasing belly fat; thigh fat and tuckshop lady arms is pissing me off to the max.  I do miss the days when my body is totally toned and kinda have muscles.  OK, OK...maybe that was like 10 yrs ago....if I can get back to half of what I used to be I'll be happy.

You know you've totally push yourself to the max in a workout , esp afterwards holding a piece of paper makes you shake your hands uncontrollably.  This is what happened just before.

Gonna start off slowly, 30mins per day workout and eventually build it up.  Lemme work on my upper body strength first (incase I EVER need to punch someone, at least it'll hurt)

Sensible Shoes

Sometimes I feel like pushing those people over who have strange ass high heels that they can't even balance themselves on.  I mean, if you don't know how to walk in them properly...stop torturing everyone else by blocking their way whilst you try to find your balance.

I was stuck behind this bitch today waddling and taking her sweet ass time adjusting her balance in a crowded walkway.  Hmmm, some people are actually in a hurry.  Please be more considerate next time by wearing some sensible shoes.

Kids ain't for me

Another friend of mine just had a baby...CONGRATS.

That's all I'll say.
I'm not a babies/kids kinda person
Sorry, I'm not that motherly and I don't feel I should adjust who I am because of your lifestyle choices.
Please do not expect me to be all cuddly and attend their birthday parties in future, they drive me mental.
And please in future gatherings refrain from talking about kids like 90% of the time, cos I'm sure I'm gonna blog & bitch about it.

F U Biatch!!

People should choose their words wisely, especially when talking about people in front of them.
This really got on my nerves today.

"This is Amy....who I kicked out for the job here".  And to add insult to injury, it was said with a smile and smirk on her face.

I think the better word to use would be "replaced" and wipe that smile off your face BIATCH!!!!

Seriously want to punch her.  So here is what I should've really said:

Strange Dream

Ever wake up from a dream and hear yourself saying "WTF"???

Well I did this morning.  It was a strange dream.  Not strange to the point that it was scary or anything...but just strange enough for me to wake up and the first words out of my mouth was "WTF".

My dream was about this friend I have not seen for agessssssssssssssssssssss.
Last time I've seen her was probably around 2005 or 2006?!?!
We haven't been in contact since.  Reason??  Not sure, perhaps jealousy or ego....who knows

But in this dream of mine, I decided to go find her and try to become best buddies with her again.  Stuff that we used to do back in the old days appeared in my dream and I was in fact trying to re-enact them to get her back on my good side?!?!  The strange part was....I was doing the laundry for her.  I hate doing the laundry....and in the dream I was hand washing them!!!!  Now come on....in this day and age, there is something call "washing machine", so not quite sure how my dream had me hand washing clothes  -_-

Thinking back, we did have some good time in the past and its just ashame we didn't keep our friendship going.  I know from my side why I didn't keep in contact.....but not sure what happened on her end.

And...in case this person ever reads this....
From my side, I feel your family have a high expectation of you and I was ruining that for you.  That is why I kept my distance....I can't be selfish.  I truly enjoyed our friendship and the time we spent together.  Hope you're enjoying the life you're having now.

I'm not sure what this dream is suppose to mean....am I suppose to contact her??

Some of your best days are ahead of you.....

Let's go for something inspirational today

After reading that, deep thinking tells me the following:
  • Don't stay in the present cos the future is worth looking forward to
  • Until your last breath, you will not know which are the best days of your life
  • Smile, another day is just around the corner  :)

Trip planning (Part 1) - America

So....this is strange.

I usually like to holiday in locations within Asia (being an Asian an all)
But recently I have decided to go outside of that comfort zone.

A Canadian friend have been tempting me for perhaps 5 yrs or more to go over to Vancouver to visit him, or spend Christmas in Hawaii.   I have rejected the idea everytime with excuses such as "I hate being stuck in the plane for a long period of time" or "Hawaii??  We got good beaches right here on the Gold Coast" or "Canada is too cold!!"

But secretly I have been wanting to visit that part of the world.  So what did I do last night?  Staying up until 3am doing some research on where I definitely wanna go.

Here are the DEFINITE locations I will visit (Yes, very touristery places):

Los Angeles

Universal Studios

Hollywood Walk of Fame

Warner Bros. Studio

Hollywood Sign
 Madame Tussauds Hollywood

New York

Empire State Building (To view the NYC Skyline)

Times Square
(I seriously want to spend a NYE here and see what all the fuss is about)

Central Park

Statue of Liberty

Brooklyn Bridge

Staten Island Ferry

Niagara Falls

Ride on the Subway

Grand Central Terminal

Downtown Manhattan
