30/5/14 - Neighbour gathering #1

Had an absolutely awesome night just drinking and talking to my neighbours Kellie & Dan.

Time really did fly.

Rocked up at 7pm and before I know, it was already 10pm.
We talked about a range of different things....and here I was thinking I'm not a very socialable person...how is this night going to go??
I do believe I (oops) was the one talking the most.  I need to watch that for next time when we have another one of these.

Dan left around midnite and I stayed for a little bit longer chatting with Kellie for a bit.
It was finally a wrap just a little bit after 1am-ish.  I have really gotta say time really flied when you're having a good time.

I think I have actually found 2 total strangers who I'll become good friends with in the end.

And hey, to top it of, I got 2 hugs  :)

I don’t care about whose DNA has recombined with whose. When everything goes to hell, the people who stand by you without flinching they are your family.
Jim Butcher

Please know that there are much better things in life than being lonely or liked or bitter or mean or self conscious. We are all full of shit. Go love someone just because, I know your heart may be badly bruised, or even the victim of numerous knifings but it will always heal even if you don’t want it to, it keeps going. There are the most fantastic, beautiful things and people out there, I promise. It’s up to you to find them.
Chuck Palahniuk

Don’t ever mistake my silence for ignorance, my calmness for acceptance, or my kindness for weakness.

People don’t like love, they like that flittery flirty feeling. They don’t love love – love is sacrificial, love is ferocious, it’s not emotive. Our culture doesn’t love love, it loves the idea of love. It wants the emotion without paying anything for it. It’s ridiculous.
Matt Chandler Parsons

Some people will never ‘get you’. Do not spend eternity asking why. People will see you differently, just cherish those who lift your soul.
Dodinsky’s Garden of Thoughts

You’ll meet her, she’s very pretty, even though sometimes she’s sad for many days at a time. You’ll see, when she smiles, you’ll love her.
Pan’s Labyrinth

I’ve never fooled anyone. I’ve let people fool themselves. They didn’t bother to find out who and what I was. Instead they would invent a character for me. I wouldn’t argue with them. They were obviously loving somebody I wasn’t.
Marilyn Monroe

I was born with an enormous need for affection, and a terrible need to give it.
Audrey Hepburn

You get a strange feeling when you’re about to leave a place. Like you’ll not only miss the people you love but you’ll miss the person you are now at this time and this place, because you’ll never be this way ever again.

Simone de Beauvoir

You are not useless. You are not hopeless. And no matter how scared you are, you will never be alone. And deep down, somewhere, in the part of you that decided the good days and your happiness and your health were all worth fighting for, you know that, too. Hold onto that knowledge. It will see you through the worst.
Ella Ceron

The pain that you’ve been feeling, can’t compare to the joy that’s coming.
Romans 8:18

I don’t think people love me. They love versions of me I have spun for them, versions of me they have construed in their minds. The easy versions of me, the easy parts of me to love. Who’s going to love the girl that can’t stop crying? The girl that hurts herself? The girl that is losing control? The girl that is so sad she can’t get out of bed? The girl that keeps pushing everyone away? Who’s going to love the monster in me, who’s going to love me now?

The best people possess a feeling for beauty, the courage to take risks, the discipline to tell the truth, the capacity for sacrifice. Ironically, their virtues make them vulnerable; they are often wounded, sometimes destroyed.

They say you don’t get over someone until you find someone or something better. As humans, we don’t deal well with emptiness. Any empty space must be filled. Immediately. The pain of emptiness is too strong. It compels the victim to fill that place. A single moment with that empty spot causes excruciating pain. That’s why we run from distraction to distraction and from attachment to attachment.
Yasmin Mogahed

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.
Pablo Neruda

Maybe there’s a universe where I’m the right person for you. Where I adore every nice thing you did for me without starting to resent you. A universe where you actually end up with someone who appreciates you. Where no one becomes a doormat. Where both of us can shed our baggage and curiosity and issues. A universe where we’re happy without wondering if that happiness is some messed-up Jenga game ready to topple at the slightest quiver. A universe where we’re comfortable and sure. Where I don’t second guess everything and I’m not afraid of commitment and of the future and of love. Maybe there’s a universe without all the noise in my head and the pride that makes me so fiercely independent and the coldness in my heart that I can turn on and off like a security fence.
Gaby Dunn

Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you or makes you happy.
Robert Tew

The thing I’m most afraid of is me. Of not knowing what I’m going to do. Of not knowing what I’m doing right now.
Haruki Murakami

My only relief is to sleep. When I’m sleeping, I’m not sad, I’m not angry, I’m not lonely, I’m nothing.
Jillian Medoff

All the hardest, coldest people you meet were once as soft as water. And that’s the tragedy of living.

Personal secret

A little secret I'm about to spill about me.
Actually, this makes me kinda weird and looks like a stalker.

My sense of smell is ultra sensitive, I can even smell when people are about to get sick prior to them actually getting sick. (Yes, its kinda disguesting I know)

But my main issue is when men wear COOL WATERS by Davidoff.  Not only does it drives my nose insane, it drives my head insane.  It affects me so badly that sometimes I lose control and starts following that unknown stranger.  Which kinda puts me in the stalker category.

I have no idea why this happens, maybe my head is thinking if it smells good, follow it.  Lucky no one have an AVO against me for stalking...yet.

So guys, if you want to get my attention, you know what cologne to wear.

Food poisioning is gonna ruin my weekend.

Totally looking forward to my neighbours catch up tonight. Oh waut, maybe I'm looking forward to it for the drinking.
But the shit thing is that I'm still suffering from my bout if food poisoning from ny work trip last week.  Not good, not good. Especially when I have been unable to down much food and keep it in throughout the last week.
How am I suppose to have food in my system to soak up the alcohol???  Trust work to ruin my weekend of fun :/

Patience level of mine

My patience with certain people are definitely wearing thin.
I dislike people who do not listen to advise, sit there and complain for the next 30 mins....what is that going to achieve by complaining??  In the end, you did exactly the same as what I've advised you 30 mins ago.  I mean...seriously....that is 30 mins of wasted time you'll never get back in your life and 30 mins worth of nearly getting a punch in the head by me.

Unfortunately I have a high tolerance and patience level.  Otherwise, I'd  definitely punch them all in the head.

I should really just pretend I can't hear them...right?

OTP

I have been watching so much TV series lately that I have so many ships I support, it's spiralling out of control.

Now, some people have no idea what OTP stands for...so here it is:  One True Pairing.  Meaning the your favorite combination of characters in a fandom.

When I went through all the ships I support, I realised they are nearly all female couples?!?!  Not sure why....but I totally support them.

Maybe I think love is love, doesn't matter if its male & female; male & male or female & female.  You love a person for who they are...and I totally stick by that (and also being a female, I stick by females).

So here are some of the ships I totally support currently (and also in the past)

*  Clarina (Clara & Marina - Em Familia)
*  Karmy (Karma & Amy - Faking It)
*  Emaya (Emily & Maya - Pretty Little Liars)
*  Emison (Emily & Alison - Pretty Little Liars)
*  Haleb (Hanna & Caleb - Pretty Little Liars)
*  Calzona (Callie & Arizona - Grey's Anatomy)
*  Jolex (Jo & Alex - Grey's Anatomy)
*  Golly (Gail & Holly - Rookie Blue)
*  Sharmen (Shane & Carmen - L Word)
*  Marbecca (Marlene & Rebecca - Verbotene Liebe)

I'm sure there is more, but these are the ones off the top of my head

Some things from the past just make you stronger

I was recently tidying (that is not often either!!!)

I found a note from a friend who I no longer talked to....due to a breakdown in our friendship.
The note definitely brought back a lot of memories of our friendship...all the good times.
Then I paused.........I thought to myself, why am I keeping this?  Shouldn't I throw it out??
I put it in the pile of other things I was going to throw out....but after the 5 minutes, I picked up the note and put it back in the drawer.
Not sure why I did that.  The friendship broke down due to betrayal, it caused me a lot of pain for this friendship to go down the drain.  But part of me still want to keep so of the memories.  Maybe because of this broken friendship, it made me stronger.
And through my hurt of this broken friendship to others, I found out who I can turn to for advice and who are my real friends.

10 Commandments from a dog's perspective

The 10 Commandments From a Dog’s Perspective

1. My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years; any separation from you will be painful for me. Remember that before you adopt me.
2. Give me time to understand what you want from me; don’t be impatient, short-tempered, or irritable.
3. Place your trust in me and I will always trust you back. Respect is earned not given as an inalienable right.
4. Don’t be angry with me for long and don’t lock me up as punishment; I am not capable of understanding why. I only know I have been rejected. You have your work, entertainment, and friends, but I only have you.
5. Talk to me. Even if I don’t understand your words, I do understand your voice and your tone. You only have to look at my tail.
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I’ll never forget it, and if it’s cruel, it may affect me forever.
7. Please don’t hit me. I can’t hit back, but I can bite and scratch, and I really don’t ever want to do that
8. Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I’m not getting the right foods or I’ve been out in the sun too long, or my heart is getting old and weak. It may be I am just dog-tired.
9. Take care of me when I get old. You too will grow old and may also need love, care, comfort, and attention.
10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, “I can’t bear to watch” or “Let it happen in my absence.” Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember, regardless of what you do, I will always love you.

Rugby League State of Origin - 100th game

So....Queensland have so far won 8 series in a row and is trying to make it a record 9 series in a row.

100th game of Origin tonight at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.

Sure Queensland fans wanted a victory but New South Wales won the game and is currently 1-0 in the series.  I think the turning point in this game is when QLD lost halfback Cooper Cronk early in the game due to a broken arm....but we Queenslanders never need an excuse.  Well played NSW

I'm sure QLD can definitely reverse the tables in 3 week's time.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

7 Lessons from 7 Great Minds

Have you ever wished you could go back in time and have a conversation with one of the greatest minds in history? Well, you can’t sorry, they’re dead. Unless of course you’re clairaudient, be my guest. But for the rest of us, we can still refer to the words they left behind.

Even though these great teachers have passed on, their words still live, and in them their wisdom. I’ve made a list of seven what I believe are some of the greatest teachings by the world’s greatest minds.

1. Realizing Your Dreams

“If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else.”
- Lawrence J. Peter

In order for us to achieve our dreams, we must have a vision of our goals. Writing down our dreams and creating a list of actions helps us stick to our plan. As it’s said “if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it”. When we turn our goals into measurable actions, we gain clarity and are able to see the necessary steps we must take in order to achieve them.

Action: Visualize a life of your wildest dreams. What did you dream of doing when you were a child? What would you do if you had a million dollars? Create a vision for your goals and start breaking them down into small actions that you can take on a day by day basis.

2. Overcoming Fear

“It was a high counsel that I once heard given to a young person, “Always do what you are afraid to do.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

The best way to learn something is to dive right in to it. When we overcome our fear of failure, we learn that only those who are asleep make no mistakes. Fear is the only thing keeping us from experiencing a life of love and fulfillment. If we make a commitment to an uncompromisable quest for truth, we will realize that as we grow more into the truth, our fears start to disappear.

Action: You must define your fears in order to conquer them. Create a list of everything you’re afraid of and start facing them one at a time. Make a commitment to yourself now to not let fear rule your life.

3. Intention and Desire

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become.”- Guatama Buddha

Our thoughts determine our reality. When we stop thinking about what we don’t and begin thinking about what we do want, our lives begin to transform. Instead of working against our desires and intentions, we move into alignment with them.

7. The Art of Simplicity

“I made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it short.”

- Blaise Pascal

Perfection is not when there is nothing to add, but when there is nothing more to take away. As Bruce Lee once said “the height of cultivation always runs to simplicity.” True mastery of our lives is realizing the simple joys of life, removing distractions and clutter from our lives.

Action: The art of simplicity is knowing what to take away. Practice recognizing when you’re spending your time on unimportant tasks and re-focus on the important.

This list is by no means exhaustive. There are other many great teachings that I did not include here because I felt like they were already expounded on thoroughly elsewhere, such as Einstein and Gandhi’s timeless classics. There are also great teachings to be found from our parents or friends.

Time management

My ultimate hatred. People who are late. Especially when its a time THEY have decided.
Time management, there is no excuse, that's what I think.  Its call respect. Respect for the person/people that you're meeting up with.
I seriously think majority if the people have no respect whatsoever.  If I have made the effort, why couldn't you as well??

Being myself

Maybe, just maybe I should learn to be truthful.  At least to myself.

I know I have been fighting all along who or what I am.  Maybe this is the only way to protect myself.  But unfortunately I think I am getting to the point that I am tired of the inner fighting.
I have watched something and loved a line "we all love you for who you are because you are you, we will not love you any less just because you are different or choose to be different"
I think I have known all along who I am, it's not that I care what people think, I actually care how they will act.

I remember my first crush.  Its just everything, made me feel free.  But then I had to think for them, how their family will feel, how they will react.  So I distance myself.  Its better if its just me that is hurt, cos they can go on with their life without the pain and knowing the truth.

My 2nd crush is one I fought for the hardest.  I knew from the start it wasn't meant to be, but I was there for them everytime they needed me.  I dropped everything so that when they call, I'll be there.  I even thought of moving back to HK just to be with them. Like I said, it's not meant to be. Maybe I was used for the support, the feeling was not mutual. I do however enjoyed the 1day and 1night I spent with them.  Although this person do not have the same feelings for me, they did however see through me. This person left me with 2 songs, said it fitted me perfectly.  And yes, I think it was their way of telling me who or what I am.  They do sense I am very insecure with myself, hence I did not trust anyone. I am still hoping they will change their feelings for me, but I think that ship have truly sail....long gone.

These are the 2 crushes of my life.  All the others I treat as friends or flings and nothing more.
I am still very bitter between what happened between me and 1 other person.  Rumours hurt friendship and a rumour really killed this friendship.  I don't often open up to people, cos I'm very insecure.  But for once that I do, it ends up being thrown back in my face.
Perhaps I shouldn't be so nice to all my friends.  I get taken for granted too often and I have to hide all my pain. Maybe I should follow the line "perhaps for once you have to look after yourself and not everyone else".

So who am I or what am I??

A person who treats people around me better than I treat myself.  I keep thinking that if everyone around me is happy, so would I.  But I don't think this is the case.  I think for once I should be me, do what I want, be with someone who loves me for who I am instead of just using me.
I am really sick of fighting myself to be nice to myself.  Perhaps for once I should be selfish and treat myself the way I treat others.

I just want to be ME!!!

Everyone needs good neighbours :)

Well, I have always like this neighbour of mine....cos she is really nice.
After a long day and nearly committing road rage whilst driving home from work in peak hour traffic, found a lovely gift awaiting for me outside my door.

This surprise was due to the fact I have observed and got to know when her birthday is.  I noticed last year she had birthday balloons delivered and was sitting in her garage on 18/4, so I was pretty sure her bday was that day.  But this year I was stumped cos the balloons were in her garage on 17/4.  But lucky I had already brought her her surprise bday gift.  It wasn't anything big, just some candles with displays in them.

She came up and thanked me afterwards, she was so shocked at how observant I am.  (I did put in my card that I'm not a stalker, I just noticed it as I walk pass her garage)

Anyway, it's good to know we treat each other so good.

I just went downstairs to thank her before, and said we really need to have a drink.  (hahahaha)
She asked me what I'm doing tomorrow night, unfortunately before she told me what was happening, I had to declined due to the fact I'm working OT on Saturday, can't drink or stay out late.  She invited me to tag along with her to a "Singles night" which she was set up.  HAHAHA.  Maybe another time...maybe.

And I think after last year's Xmas how I said I'll try and make an effort for this yr's Xmas pressie to her.  I think I have come up with something that is pretty darn good  :)
